Home for the Holidays

The holiday season gives us time to reflect on who and what are really important to us. Our Home for the Holidays contest asked you to tell us who you're thankful for. We heard some wonderful stories, and thank each one of you for sharing the special people in your life with us.

One story in particular moved us: Ginny Bojanowski told us about her incredible daughter, Lisa. After reading Ginny's note, you'll understand why she was awarded the Grand Prize.

Congrats and Air Scense also go to the five runners-up and the special people in their lives: Annita Peterson and her inspiring sister Megann Bench; Holly Morris and her beautiful daughter; Allison Burton and her friend Lisa Glessner; Ashley Jensen and her mom; and Jocelyn Stone and her friend Joni Nelson.

Thank you all so much for your remarkable notes, and the beautiful words about the extraordinary people in your world.

Dear Citra-Solv,

I'm writing about how blessed and thankful I am for having my daughter Lisa in my life. We lost our 26 yr. old son six years ago. He died after a 2 1/2 month stay in a burn unit suffering from second and third degree burns over 85% of his body. My daughter flew back and forth, from Md. to our home in Ga., to be with her brother. She was strong and supportive throughout our bleakest days. She's always been a thoughtful, intelligent, funny, kind and generous young woman and that really showed through in our time of need.

Lisa is 44 years old, with a wonderful husband and two beautiful well-mannered boys ages 11 and 13. She has home schooled the boys and has done and amazing job raising them to be respectful, kind, smart, fun and caring young men. I am so proud of her. She is constantly on the go with her Home School Co-op and various activities the boys are involved in. She attends a bible study group and book group and still finds time to bake and cook three meals where the family sits down to eat together. I'm in awe of her and her accomplishments. She's everything I ever wanted to be and more.

I'm so thankful she was there for us to lean on and she continues to be a great support and loving daughter. My mother-in-law turned 100 this past June and Lisa has been there for her as well. Lisa wrote an article about her amazing grandmother for a local paper with pictures as well and surprised her with it. We were all touched by what she wrote. She and her boys have been there to care for her if she was sick or to just go have lunch with her. The boys have provided much happiness for their great-grandmother...all due to how Lisa and her husband have raised them. As a family...they enjoy mother- nature and the great outdoors and do as much
as possible to live a "Green" life. I have so much fun taking nature walks and vacations with them. I always learn so much. There's no way I can express all the things that my daughter and her family do to make me love them so much. I just wish every family was as blessed as I am.

Sincerely,

Ginny Bojanowski
