Congratulations to all who entered Cultivate Your Creativity. I was amazed at the artwork you Cultivated!!!! The job of jurying other artists' work is never easy, but I really feel that everyone deserves recognition for the fabulous, innovative work I enjoyed while jurying this contest.

WOW. There were so many unique techniques and presentations. As always I rely on the principles and elements of design as a starting point for my choices. Composition plays a role as well. The other factors that I look for in a piece are emotional content and the artists' hand. Gerald Brommer, a wonderful artist and workshop instructor, has written a great book on this subject, Emotional Content, How to Create Paintings that Communicate. I love to see a painting that allows me to share what the artist is feeling; what they are communicating through their work. Keep creating!!! Your art is as individual as you are. I love the saying, BE YOURSELF, EVERYONE ELSE IS TAKEN!
