After returning to college later in life, Jo Ann Koch earned a BA degree in art from California State University, Northridge. She continued her education at California State College, Los Angeles, working on a master's degree in Art Therapy. Shortly before completing the degree she decided to train as a commercial artist. She worked as a graphic designer and an artist at Disney Studios in the inkingdepartment. She is an award winning artist and photographer.
Jo Ann has exhibited at Folk Tree Gallery, Folk Art Museum, Los Angeles City HallBridge Gallery, Valley Community College Gallery, Viva Gallery, Orlando Gallery, Pasadena Civic Center, and Arts for Earth Gallery.
Jo Ann has written and illustrated four children's books that have been e-published and appear on several websites. She is a member of the Society of Children's book Writers and Illustrators, the Collage Artists of America, Los Angeles Experimental Artists, Valley Artist Guild, Women Painters West and the Photographic Society of America.
