"I have always been fascinated by the concept of Artist Trading Cards and have wanted to collect them from other artist out in the world. I started thinking about my childhood and trading bubblegum cards and how I had this little wooden box I kept them in, to keep them as pristine as possible.
It inspired me to create a box to store the Artist Trading Cards I collect. This led me to the idea of creating a series of cards, and a matching box to go along with the cards, which could be used as a display at swaps.
The box I created uses National Geographic magazines, which have been altered with Citra Solv to cover the inside and outside of the box. I then used various stickers, water slide transfers, and scraps of this and that similar to the ones used on the trading cards to complete the look of the box.
The latches and hinges were removed prior to attaching the paper to give it a finished look, and then reattached. The box itself is a small wooden box measured to fit two rows of trading cards, or about 100 cards total, depending on the thickness of the cards. The boxes can be found at most art/crafting stores."

About the cards:
"These cards contain commentary on the everyday story of people. I wanted to express the importance of telling our stories, listening to the stories of others, and thinking about what connects us or separates us as human beings. The cards use various things I have collected over the years as trinkets, stickers, stamps, water slide transfers, old photographs and word stickers to provoke thought or start a conversation about a variety of topics. There are a total of 50 cards in this series."
